Publishing Guide

Your post should be focused on a topic

If your post aims to solve a problem, make sure that you address the problem and provide a solution. Keep your thoughts organized and well-structured to make it easy for the reader to follow your logic.

Your post should be original

Your writing must be original, in your own words, and not plagiarized. That is the first thing that gets looked at and determines your credibility as an author or contributor on Brogramo.

Know your audience

Your aim should be to get your audience to understand your message. Use terminology and wording that is appropriate for your audience.

Check your post for grammar errors

Proofread your writing and double-check for grammar errors. Grammarly might help.

Be concise and to the point

Use headings and paragraphs effectively. Don’t drag it out for the sole purpose of producing a longer post. A longer post does not always add value.

Use links wisely

Don’t overstuff your post with links; use them when it is relevant. You can link back to your blog, just make sure that it is appropriate and compliments the post.

Choose images carefully

Include as many images as your post requires. The recommended size for images is 28px wide by any height.

It is always best to use your own images; however, follow these guidelines when that is not possible:

  • Assume all images are protected.
  • Use your own or CC-licensed images
  • Try searching sites like Pixabay.com. (Pixabay has many CC-licensed images that don’t require attribution and are allowed for commercial use.)
  • Include proper attribution if it’s required.

Include an author bio

Although not required, your bio should be short and compelling. Write in the first, third person, or whichever suits you best.

Existing post violations

Posts in violation of these guidelines exist because they were written before the guidelines were adopted. They are gradually being updated.
